Discover the World of Honeybees

Welcome to the Honeybee Discovery Center, an interactive exhibition gallery and learning space to educate on the importance of pollinators, - especially honeybees - in our environment!

Established as a non-profit educational institution in 2018, The Center is dedicated to teaching the public about honeybees and the rich history of beekeeping in Northern California.

The honeybees have a story to tell…

It began more than 100 years ago when beekeepers started helping the bees find food, build homes, and do their job of pollination.

The tiny world of honeybees goes by every day virtually unnoticed and most often, unexplained. The truth is, these tiny creatures are responsible for one out of every three bites you eat.

Honeybees are….

  • Essential to agriculture.

  • Vital for the preservation of ecological balance and biodiversity in nature.

  • The only insects that produce a food that is consumed by humans.

And they are vanishing at nearly 46 percent per year…

Explore our Beekeeping and Beekeepers page to learn more about the world of honeybees and how you can contribute to the conservation of our buzzing buddies.
